Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about TyreHawk Mobile — Fort William's 24/7 emergency mobile tyre fitting service.
How quickly can you reach me for an emergency tyre fitting?
We aim to reach you within 45–90 minutes across Fort William and the surrounding Highlands. For the furthest points of our 50-mile service area, allow up to 90 minutes. We'll always give you a realistic ETA when you book.
Do you carry tyres, or do I need to supply them?
We carry a range of common tyre sizes for emergency situations. For less common sizes, we may need to source your tyre first — tell us your registration or tyre size when booking and we'll confirm availability. You can also supply your own tyres for us to fit.
Are you really available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week?
Yes — genuinely. We provide 24/7 emergency mobile tyre fitting including nights, weekends, and bank holidays. Out-of-hours bookings (before 8am, after 8pm, and weekends) carry a small surcharge, which we always disclose upfront.
What areas do you cover?
We cover a 50-mile radius around Fort William, including Glencoe, Ballachulish, Spean Bridge, Glenfinnan, Kinlochleven, Mallaig, Invergarry, Dalwhinnie, Newtonmore, and many more. Use our booking form to check if we cover your specific location.
Can you reach me on a rural Highland road, layby, or at a campsite?
Absolutely. Rural roads, single-track roads, Highland laybys, campsites, hotel car parks, ferry terminals — if you're within our 50-mile radius, we'll find you. Just provide as much location detail as possible when you book.
How much does mobile tyre fitting cost?
Our pricing includes a base callout fee, a service charge depending on the type of work, and a small distance supplement for locations further from Fort William. Out-of-hours work carries an additional surcharge. We always confirm pricing before starting work — no surprises.
Do you take payment online?
No online payment is taken when booking. Your technician will confirm the final price on arrival and take payment on-site. We accept card and cash.
Can you repair a puncture rather than replace the tyre?
Yes, if the puncture is repairable — this means the damage is in the central three-quarters of the tread and the puncture is no larger than 6mm. We'll assess honestly and advise whether repair is safe. If it isn't, we can arrange replacement.
Do you fit tyres I've purchased online?
Yes. If you've ordered tyres online, we can come to your home, workplace, or any location within our service area to fit them. Just provide us with the tyre specifications when booking.
What vehicles do you cover?
We cover cars, SUVs, 4x4s, and light commercial vehicles including vans. For heavier commercial vehicles, contact us to discuss.
What should I do if I have a blowout on a Highland road?
Move your vehicle as far off the road as safely possible. Switch on hazard lights. If you have a warning triangle, place it a safe distance behind the vehicle on the same side of the road. Stay away from moving traffic and call us immediately.
How do I track my booking?
After booking, you'll receive a booking reference by SMS (if you opted in). Visit /track on our website and enter your reference to see the current status of your booking in real time.
